What is a Hackathon?

A hackathon is a contest that introduces a problem to students, teachers and developers and allows their creativity to solve this problem using Design Thinking and STEAM. This year our theme is using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

To get started you will choose 1 of these themes and begin researching problems that align with this theme.

1️⃣ Sustainable Cities & Clean Energy – How can we power and build smart, eco-friendly communities?

2️⃣ Food & Agriculture – How can we grow and distribute nutritious food sustainably?

3️⃣ Health & Well-being – How can we ensure quality healthcare and well-being for all?

4️⃣ Education & Knowledge Sharing – How can we spread knowledge and skills for a better future?

5️⃣ Climate & Environment – How can we protect Earth’s ecosystems from pollution and climate change?

Requirements

You can use any platform introduced within the workshops and at the event to build your solutions. You may not use anything you have built prior to the hackathon.

You will submit a 30 second video demonstrating how your solution works, you will also submit a slide deck to present at the Pitch event (3min max time to present).
